Media accreditation process for ICC World Twenty20 India 2016 closes on FRIDAY

The media accreditation process for the ICC World Twenty20 India 2016 is open but will close at 1700 (Dubai time) on Friday, 5 February 2016. This is a multi-stage online process that can be completed by clicking here.

As part of the application process, applicants will need to upload the following:

i) A colour passport-size photograph with a plain background (.jpg file smaller than 500 KB in size);

ii) A scanned copy of the photo page of your valid passport/National ID card (.jpg file smaller than 500 KB in size); and

iii) An assignment Letter signed by your editor/employer (.jpg file not more than 500 KB) – applications not supported by the assignment letters will not be processed.

Applicants should ensure that they have these three documents (in soft copy) prepared prior to applying for accreditation.

Accreditation will only be given to journalists:

a) who have assignments from their organisations; and

b) who are accredited by their country’s cricket board

After the applicant has submitted his/her online application, an e-mail will go to his/her editor or employer requesting him/her to approve the application by clicking an attached link which will open a page accordingly for the editor/employer to ‘Confirm’ or ‘Reject’ the applicant.

Until the application is approved by the relevant editor or employer, the ICC will not be able to process the application. As such, all editors are strongly advised to approve their staffers’ applications at the earliest opportunity.

At the same time, editors are requested only to approve applications of staff members who will be at the event in a working capacity.

IMPORTANT NOTES FOR COORDINATORS, APPLICANTS AND EDITORS:

i. By uploading information/applying for accreditation, you acknowledge that you, the applicant, agrees with and accept the attached ICC World Twenty20 India 2016 Media Accreditation Terms and Conditions for Non-Rights Holders.

ii. Each applicant’s respective editor must approve the applicant’s application before it is processed by the ICC. Without such approval, the application will not be put forward for processing.

iii. Accreditation for the event does not guarantee access to a specific match. During the second stage of the accreditation process, which will run from Wednesday, 17 February to Sunday, 28 February, you will be required to go back to your online application and indicate the matches you wish to cover, including warm-up matches. For match day accreditation, priority will be given to international/domestic news agencies and national/daily newspaper reporters of countries whose teams will be involved in the match. iv. Given the large number of applicants expected, space for media on match days will be very limited. As such, the ICC will accredit a maximum of two reporters, two photographers and one representative from each TV/radio/website/magazine organisation per match. Therefore, the applicants/editors/employers are strongly advised to discuss the coverage plan internally before selecting matches; once the requests are submitted online, it will be extremely difficult to make changes.

v. Non-Rights Holders (NRHs) will be accredited for the tournament, but only reporters will be accredited on match days and granted access to the venue on those days. NRH camerapersons will not be granted match-day accreditation. However, to assist NRHs, the ICC will provide download links of unedited broadcast quality post-match media conferences, which will also be streamed live on the ICC website.

vi. NRHs are not permitted to bring any recording equipment into the venue on a match day. NRHs found filming inside the venue on a match day will have ALL their organisation’s accreditations withdrawn, and will be banned from covering any further matches.

vii. The ICC reserves the right to approve/reject/request further information on all applications in its sole discretion and without providing reasons for doing so.

viii. The ICC reserves the right to withdraw the accreditation of any accredited journalist whom it deems to be in breach of the relevant ICC World Twenty India 2016 Media Accreditation Terms and Conditions for Non-Rights Holders.

ix. Journalists failing to attend more than half their nominated matches after confirming their attendance will drop in the priority order.

x. Journalists not responding to reminder emails from the accreditation team will drop in the priority order.

xi. Journalists not informing the accreditation team about a change in their plans will jeopardise any applications they may make for accreditation for future ICC events.

xii. Late applications will not be entertained.

xiii. For members of the travelling media requiring visas to India, a letter in support of a visa application will be provided. Journalists requiring visa letters are advised to contact ICC Media Accreditation Manager Nicole Reynolds at nicole.reynolds@icc-cricket.com along with scanned copies of their passport’s front page and details of where the application will be submitted. Applicants are reminded that it is their sole responsibility to ensure that they have made the necessary visa arrangements for travel.
