Asif Ali, an U-16 State Cricketer made the entire Cricketing fraternity of Kerala proud by donating major share of his match fee to the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund. The young boy, who had earlier made into the record books of the Trivandrum District Cricket Association by being its youngest debutant had made the decision to donate his ‘life’s savings’ of Rs. 7715, which was the leftover in his bank account after purchasing a bat for himself. He took the decision to support the Government’s efforts of protecting the State from the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic after the CM’s appeal to the kids to support the efforts. Asif, who plays for the Kottayam District in the Inter-District matches is now a Plus One student of the St. Joseph’s Higher Secondary School, Trivandrum and is the son of SN Sudhir Aly, Assistant Manager (Statistics) BCCI and Iysha, a homemaker.
