(DULEEP TROPHY AND KCA HOME MATCHES) The 2013-14 domestic season will commence in September 2013. It will feature tournaments for male and female cricketers across different age-groups. These tournaments will be covered by the media. It is recommended that Media Accreditation, which is the norm for international matches and tournaments like the IPL and CL, be introduced in domestic cricket, as well. The objective is to ensure that only representatives of media organisations that are known to cover domestic cricket on a regular basis, are allowed access to the domestic match venues since there will be live coverage of many board matches. ONLY A SELECT NUMBER OF REPRESENTATIVES IN AN ORGANISATION, WILL BE ACCREDITED. FOR INSTANCE, A MAXIMUM OF FOUR REPORTERS, FOUR PHOTOGRAPHERS AND FOUR CAMERAPERSONS (IN THE CASE OF THE NEWS CHANNELS) PER ORGANISATION, WILL BE ACCREDITED. The media organisations should be sent an accreditation form, in which they will have to enter their name, designation, name or organisation, contact details, attach their editor’s authorisation letter, and of course, their headshot and should submit this to the staging association by 25th of August 2013. The filled application should submit to the Media manager of the staging association. Only cardholders should be allowed access to the media areas at the venues, once the domestic season starts. MEDIA CONFERENCES FOR ALL DOMESTIC TOURNAMENTS Concurrently, media commitments, like pre-match and end-of-day media / post-match media conferences, will also be made a part of every domestic team’s schedule. The BCCI initiated the same, during the Irani Cup match between Mumbai and the Rest of India, played at Mumbai in February 2013. Both teams deputed a player, for pre-match media conferences (on the day before the games) and end-of-day media conference (on all playing days). The captains interacted with the media at the conclusion of the match. The players should be instructed to not interact with the media other than during these media conferences, without the prior permission of the BCCI or concerned affiliated unit.
