The Kerala Cricket Association has decided to contribute Rs 50 lakhs to the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF) in support of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

KCA has already contributed Rs. 50 Lakhs to the Prime Minister Cares fund launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister. The current contribution is on top of that.

The decision was taken during a discussion by the Office Bearers of the KCA with the BCCI Joint Secretary, Shri. Jayesh George and with the Secretaies of the District Cricket Associations. The District Cricket Associations shall contribute Rs. One lakh each to the corpus. In addition, KCA shall take lead in augmenting help from amongst the Cricketing fraternity of the State. The Association had raised Rs 65 lakhs in the same way during the 2018 floods.

KCA President Sri. Sajan K Varghese, Secretary Adv. Sreejith V Nair and BCCI Joint Secretary Sri. Jayesh George said in a joint statement that Kerala Cricket Association and the District Cricket Associations are committed to support the Government initiatives in fighting the Covid-19 menace.
