MISSION GOLD - RESULTS
TRIALS CONDUCTED BY KCA ON 6TH JANUARY AT MAHARAJAS COLLEGE GROUND - ERNAKULAM AND RECRUITED 8 TRAINEES
Kca conducted the trials for the Mission gold scheme for the athlets, at Maharajas college - Ernakulam, the response was tremendous and about 25 athlets from various desciplines were shortlisted and conducted the trials. The experts recommended 8 athlets to Kca. The following athlets had choosen to be part of the mission gold programme.

Athletics was part and parcel of Kerala and our athletes have performed creditably in the National scene. The KCA is keen to encourage this discipline of sports further in the state and the goal was to help the Kerala Sports Council and associate bodies to mould champions in this field who will win “Gold Medals” in Olympics and other international competitions and bring glory to the State and the Nation. Hence the name “Mission Gold”.
The KCA will sponsor potential champions amongst boys and girls every year and they will be selected by an expert panel and with the help of the Sports Council. The selected individuals will be placed under the care of dedicated Coaches and housed in special separate boarding facilities for boys and girls. The training programmes emphasis on bio mechanical analysis and scientific support, in addition to the systematic trainining programmes. Their education will also be looked after by the KCA.
Kochi, due to its central location in the state was the choice for this training facility. KCA’s fully equipped Gym at the JNI Stadium will be thrown open for the trainees.

MISSION GOLD

KERALA CRICKET ASSOCIATION “MISSION GOLD” SCHEME, ANNOUNCED BY THE KERALA CRICKET ASSOCIATION,

Athletics was part and parcel of Kerala and our athletes have performed creditably in the National scene. The KCA is keen to encourage this discipline of sports further in the state and the goal was to help the Kerala Sports Council and associate bodies to mould champions in this field who will win “Gold Medals” in Olympics and other international competitions and bring glory to the State and the Nation. The intention is to identify talent at an early stage so that proper scientific training can be imparted to them and with the help of proper nutritional and dietary support develop these world beaters. The best place to start this talent search is at the school level and the interschool athletic meets were an ideal place to begin. while few womens colleges will be approached to find suitable accommodation for the girls and their studies. The boys college authorities will be contacted for the usage of their sports stadium for the training of the athletes. KCA’s fully equipped Gym at the JNI Stadium will be thrown open for the trainees.
